2019 Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards Judging

2019 Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards Competition
Call for Judges 2019

Judging Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards.

Picture yourself as a judge for the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) Blue Pencil & Gold Screen (BP&GS) Awards! Judging is an honor and a benefit. First, you are considered an expert in your field when you are selected by the BP&GS Awards Committee to judge the works of your peers. Second, you benefit from your exposure to the tremendous talent, creativity and innovation of communicators across government. By volunteering, you learn from your peers while providing a vital service to NAGC.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to judge the Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards and thought, ‘what’s in it for me’? Listen to these former judges to find out what they got out of the judging process and consider being a judge for one of the more than 30 BP&GS categories.

Judging Process

Become a Judge

All judging is done online!  You will receive access to the online submission site to review the entries.

Get a team!

There is always more than one judge reviewing nominations; sometimes 2, 3 or even 4.  If you have colleagues you know (they don’t have to sit in the same office or state!) you would like to work with, encourage them to be on your team!

Judging Timeline

March 6 through March 22.  The amount of time required to judge varies due to number of entries in that category, but we promise not to overwhelm you!

Training

All judges will be offered the opportunity to learn how to use the online judging tool.  It’s easy and efficient, so if you can’t make the webinar, we will ask that you go through the online forms to familiarize yourself with them before you get the nominations.
