Obtaining your APR through NAGC

Pursuing the APR gives you direct access to top public relations leaders

The internationally recognized Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) integrates timeless communication principles with contemporary strategies and tactics. The process of earning your APR takes your skills to the next level by exposing you to today’s cutting-edge strategies and practices, assessing your skills to identify strengths and opportunities for growth and demonstrating your personal and professional commitment to excellence.

Pursuing the APR gives you direct access to top public relations leaders—APR holders who will guide you through the process of achieving Accreditation—and provides the tools you need to distinguish yourself as a luminary in the public relations field.

The Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) administers the APR process for its Participating Organizations, which include NAGC. Detailed information about the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations and application form to become a candidate for accreditation may be obtained from the UAB website.

NAGC joined the UAB in 2016 and became one of nine public relations organizations participating in the Universal Accreditation Program. The list of current UAB members is also available on the site.

An open pathway to APR is a valuable professional development opportunity. We hope all of our members are able to take advantage of it. If you have questions, see the links below for more information or contact NAGC’s UAB liaison, Laura Kirkpatrick, APR at 732-431-7310, ext. 8843, or laura.kirkpatrick@co.monmouth.nj.us.
