Bylaws

Effective bylaws provide an organization with a solid foundation rooted in its history. They help monitor current performance and equip and organization to tackle the challenges necessary for long-term sustainability. In 2024, NAGC’s Board of Directors revised its bylaws to enhance efficiency and strengthen and modernize the organization.

A summary of key bylaw changes follows.

  • Updates to the new NAGC membership levels, including the new Organizational membership level.
  • Clarifies how members may lose or voluntarily terminate their membership.
  • Clarifies how and when board meetings are held.
  • Streamlines the process of creating committees and task forces.
  • Changes the provision that any person seeking the president-elect position has been a board member in the prior four years.
  • Changes the Treasurer’s position to a Board appointment.
  • Sets forth an election schedule previously not included in the bylaws.
