Maryemma Bachelder, EPIO Communications Director Maryemma Bachelder, EPIO, has served as Communications Director for the City of St. Cloud, FL since 2020, and brings a wealth of experience spanning a 25-year career as a Public Information Officer (PIO). A former print journalist, she previously worked as a PIO for the Florida Department of Transportation and also in healthcare. Maryemma now leads a team of five, who provide messaging on behalf on 14 city departments across a variety of channels. Under her leadership, the team has added a drone program, video storytelling, and podcasting to its array of communications tools, and has exponentially grown the city's engagement on social media, while maintaining and robust relationship with local news media. Additionally, she serves on Florida's PIO deployment team to assist with public information throughout Florida following disasters, such as hurricanes.Maryemma is a passionate advocate for government communicators having not only a seat, but a voice, at the table. She is a member of Cohort 13 of Texas Christian University's Certified Public Communicator program, from which she will graduate in July 2026. Maryemma has one adult son who works as a sheriff's deputy. |
